Lynn,
Congrats on your first year of camps! I love the idea for weekend camps in 2006 especially if it’s near AZ
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with Brad and Owen.

Lynn: Smith Rock camp was great despite the weather. I learned a lot. Just got back from three days in J Tree this week. I did some aid climbing and photo rigging training with Bob Gaines and some free climbing… my footwork and confidence much improved thanks to your camp. I just listened to your voice in my head saying “that’s an expensive move” and “right foot, right hand” and “trust your feet!”
Re future camps, I agree that offering some more affordable weekend camps a good idea, as is planning times when weather odds are better (Bishop in March and Oregon in Nov means really rolling the dice - I drove home in snow). You might also think about a women only camp..
Thanks to you, Craig, Brad, Katie, Jim, and Brittany for a great experience.

Hi Lynn,
This is a response to Bill’s comment about thinking about a women only camp.
What a fabulous idea! The dynamics of a women only camp would be empowering, particularly because rock climbing tends to be male-oriented and is greatly dependent on a positive attitude and self-confidence. Please do consider it. Thank you.

Hi Lynn,
A womans only camp? While empowering, yes, just being a woman climber is empowering!!! I’ve always felt the more you draw attention to gender, the more you short change yourself. It’s kind of the ‘don’t treat me any different because of my gender’ kind of thought. I’d rather be thought of as a climber than a woman climber- I would be afraid that an all womans camp would tune more attention on ‘woman’ than ‘climber’.
